About this Hymn
In view of the wonders of God's grace and righteousness, as revealed in the coming and in the work of the Messiah, the whole creation is invited to unite in praise to Jehovah. "Oh sing unto the LORD a new song" out of the newness of all things in consequence of the redemption of humankind through the work of the Messiah. "For he has done marvelous things"—the miracles of his grace in bringing salvation to the world. God himself intervened in favor of his people; it was his miraculous interference through him who is called Wonderful that brought deliverance to those who sat in the shadow and darkness of death. – Paul E. Kretzmann
Lyrics
Verse 1
Sing a new song to Jehovah for the wonders he hath wrought; his right hand and arm most holy triumph to his cause have brought.

Verse 2
In his love and tender mercy he hath made salvation known, in the sight of ev'ry nation he his righteousness hath shown.

Verse 3
Truth and mercy toward his people he hath ever kept in mind, and his full and free salvation he hath shown to all mankind.

Verse 4
Sing, O earth, sing to Jehovah, praises to Jehovah sing; with the swelling notes of music shout before the Lord, the King.

Verse 5
Seas with all your fullness thunder, all earth's peoples now rejoice; floods and hills in praise uniting, to the Lord lift up your voice.

Verse 6
For, behold, Jehovah cometh, robed in justice and in might; he alone will judge the nations, and his judgment shall be right.
