About this Hymn
Inspired by Revelation 7, this was the first hymn that we wrote together. It is our hope and comfort that behind the fragile curtain of this world there is a higher throne—and the King of kings is seated on it. Within the shadows of this world he is not asleep or distant but is our light and the Lord of all things. The earth is not as it should be, but one day every eye will see and recognize the Lord's justice, compassion, and wisdom and will bow before him. For his children there is the hope of hunger satisfied and tears wiped away by the merciful hand of their Father. This is the truth we wake up to every morning, and it is his rule and gospel we proclaim to the world.
Lyrics
Verse 1
There is a higher throne than all this world has known, where faithful ones from ev'ry tongue will one day come. Before the Son we'll stand, made faultless through the Lamb; believing hearts find promised grace; salvation comes.

Chorus
Hear heaven's voices sing; their thund'rous anthem rings through em'rald courts and sapphire skies; their praises rise. All glory, wisdom, pow'r, strength, thanks, and honor are to God our King, who reigns on high forevermore.

Verse 2
And there we'll find our home, our life before the throne. We'll honor him in perfect song, where we belong. He'll wipe each tearstained eye as thirst and hunger die. The Lamb becomes our Shepherd King; we'll reign with him.
